Prodi Sastra Inggris UTM

Pada hari Rabu tanggal 22 Feb 2023 sebanyak 4 mahasiswa sastra Inggris memulai kegiatan magang MBKM di Tadatodays Media Probolinggo. Keempat mahasiswa tersebut adalah Nabila Fasicha, Karunia Isnaini, Linda Tiara, dan Samudra Kautsar. Kegiatan magang ini akan dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan penuh.
Di kesempatan yang sama, para mahasiswa di dampingi oleh dosen pembimbing yaitu Dr. Masduki, M.Pd dan Dr. Siti Hanifa, M.Pd. Hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut adalah Bapak Yudi sebagai Direktur Pelaksana Tadatodays Media.
Dalam sambutannya, Dr. Masduki, M.Pd menyampaikan maksud dan tujuan magang tersebut sebagai sarana mendalami ilmu jurnalistik dan memberikan wadah yang luas bagi mahasiswa untuk menerapkan ilmu nya selama kuliah ke dalam praktek jurnalisme. Sementara itu Ibu Dr. Siti Hanifa, M.Pd menyampaikan bahwa pada dasarnya ilmu yang didapatkan selama di bangku kuliah, terutama aktifitas tulis-menulis akan sangat membantu mahasiswa untuk menjadi seorang jurnalis, reporter, ataupun pada bidang lain yang tidak lepas dari aktivitas menulis.
Lebih lanjut, Bapak Yudi selaku direktur pelaksana Tadatodays media, yang juga perintis Radar Bromo, menekankan bahwa di dalam kegiatan magang nanti para mahasiswa akan diberi bekal teori jurnalisme selama beberapa Minggu, praktek menulis, dan dilanjutkan untuk meliput berita ke lapangan.
Semoga kegiatan magang ini memberikan manfaat dan sekaligus sebagai wadah bagi mahasiswa di dalam memperdalam ilmu dan menyalurkan minat dan sekaligus sebagai jalinan kerjasama nyata di dalam program link and match.

Five students of English Study Program, Department of Social and Cultural Sciences, Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, Universitas Trunojoyo Madura serve their their internship at PT. Satukanal Media Dwipa Malang. It offers tremendous opportunities for students to develop personally and professionally. Bringing journalism knowledge in practical terms has lead them to a step-by-step process to set their future careers.

Beberapa dosen Prodi Sasing mengikuti kegiatan Pelatihan Berbasis Kompetensi Penyuntingan Naskah yang diselenggarakan oleh Pusat Bahasa UTM pada tanggal 21-23 Oktober 2022. Hadir dalam kegiatan tersebut adalah: Dr. Siti Hanifa, M.Pd, Dr. Masduki, M. Pd, Dr. Rosyidah Ekawati, M.A, Dr. Sriyono, M. Hum, Misnadin, M.A., Ph.D, dan Nurijabah, M.A.

Kegiatan tersebut diisi langsung oleh para pakar di bidangnya, yaitu Bapak Bambang Trimansyah dan Ibu Epik Finilih dari Institut Penulis Indonesia. Materi yang diberikan antara lain mengenai Hakikat Penyuntingan Naskah, Aspek Penyuntingan, Anatomi Naskah, Penyuntingan Mekanis, Penyuntingan Bahasa, Penyuntingan Unsuru non teks, serta Penyuntingan Substansi.

Pada tanggal 13 dan 14 oktober 2022, prodi sasing menyelenggarakan kegiatan Workshop Penyusunan RPS OBE sebagai salah satu wujud dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dan kurikulum sastra Inggris. Adapun kegiatan ini mengundang pemateri dari Universitas Widya Mandala Surabaya, yaitu Dr. Teodora Winda Mulia, CA., CPA. dan Dr. Lodovicus Lasdi, MM.Ak, CA., CPA.

Pada tanggal 14 September 2022, dosen Prodi Sasing UTM melakukan kunjungan ke Prodi Sasing UIN Raden Mas Said Solo.

Kunjungan ini merupakan tindak lanjut dari Perjanjian Kerja Sama antara Prodi Sasing UTM dengan Prodi Sasing UIN RMS Solo yang telah dilakukan pada tahun sebelumnya. Kunjungan kali ini lebih terfokus dalam hal manajemen prodi dan penjaminan mutu. Diharapkan bahwa kunjungan ini akan semakin meningkatkan jalinan kerjasama antar prodi yang berdampak pada akreditasi prodi.

Kunjungan Manajemen prodi ke Sasing UNS

Di dalam rangka meningkatkan mutu manajemen prodi, beberapa dosen Program Studi Sastra Inggris FISIB UTM melakukan kunjungan ke prodi sastra Inggris UNS pada tanggal 13 september 2022.

Di dalam sambutan nya, Korprodi Sastra Inggris FISIB UTM, Ibu Miftahur Roifah M.A menyampaikan maksud dari kunjungan tersebut yaitu ingin mendapatkan gambaran dan wawasan yang mendalam terkait manajemen prodi yang efektif dan mampu meningkatkan mutu prestasi mahasiswa baik akademik maupun non akademik.

Pelaksanaan kunjungan berjalan dengan hangat dan banyak sekali masukan dan manfaat yang didapatkan dari prodi sasing UNS. Korprodi sasing UNS di dalam sambutannya menyampaikan beberapa hal terkait bagaimana mengatur prodi, HMJ, maupun pelaksaan MBKM. Kunjungan ini berakhir dengan akan ditingkatkan di dalam bentuk kerjasama antar prodi terutama terkait dengan pengelolaan jurnal, dll.

Beberapa mahasiswa sastra Inggris UTM sedang melaksanakan Magang MBKM di lembaga Penerjemahan Malang. Kegiatan ini merupakan implementasi dari Kurikulum MBKM yang telah dicanangkan oleh Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Indonesia.

Kegiatan Magang MBKM ini dilaksanakan selama kurang lebih 6 (enam) bulan secara luring di lembaga tersebut. Bapak Halili dalam sambutan nya pada saat mengantarkan mahasiswa, mengatakan bahwa kegiatan tersebut pada dasarnya merupakan kegiatan di dalam memberikan wadah yang luas dan fleksibel kepada para mahasiswa di dalam menerapkan ilmu yang telah didapatkan selama kuliah.

Selama pelaksanaan kegiatan magang ini akan dipantau langsung oleh Prodi dan dibimbing langsung oleh dosen pengampu MK Translation, yaitu Bapak Masduki. Kegiatan ini juga akan dievaluasi bersama dengan lembaga tempat magang guna menjaga mutu kegiatan magang dengan harapan bahwa kegiatan magang ini betul-betul membekali mahasiswa dalam kegiatan nyata di tempat kerja.
