Many wonder what kinds of employment that they are going to have after graduating from a higher educational institution. It is believed that most of the students dream to have a job that is relevant to their major. Many students are also worried about either their later jobs will be appropriate with the degree and knowledge that they have gained at the University or not. Does their qualification guarantee a decent job for them later in the corporate world? And many other questions from students. The biggest problem, however, is that most of the students are in a dark of their potentials. Therefore, it is a crucial issue to discuss.

Friday, 20 December 2019 at 14.00-17.00 in Performance laboratory, Coordinator of English Study Program, Mohammad Halili, MLangSt in collaboration with HAMLET held a Sharing Session with the theme “Unlocking the Potential of Opportunities for Youth “. We invited Imam Mulyadi, an Asian Management Consultant from MDF (Management Developement Foundation) to share his notion about the future career that the students can fill and especially the strength of individuals that the students need to know. 40 students of English Study Program attended the event. The Dean of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, Surokim, S.Sos, M.Si, gave an opening speech emphasising the importance of acting progressively in regards with the development of faculty. Dr. Masduki, M.Pd. and Misnadin, S.S., M.A., Ph.D also attended the event.

At the opening ceremony, there were speeches from the general chairperson of HMP SI HAMLET, M. Faikhus Salmani and the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Cultural Sciences, Surokim, S.Sos., M.Si. And Misnadin, S.S., M.A, Ph.D officially opened the event.

After that, it was continued with the main event, the Sharing Session which was delivered directly by an Asian Management Consultant, Imam Mulyadi. The Sharing Session took for about 2 hours, 1 hour for delivering material by the speaker and 1 hour for QnA session. The speaker also did not hesitate to share their own experiences to motivate participants to pick up their success later. Believe it or not, someone’s success depends on himself. Therefore, to explore the potential in oneself is a must. This is because revealing potentials of ours is the key to opening the door to our success in the future.

Hopefully this event can foster the enthusiasm of English Study Program students in exploring their potential as job opportunities and success are more promising in the future.
